Bo Hines, the Executive Director of the White House's Presidential Council of Advisers for Digital Assets, has announced his departure from the role to return to the private sector. Hines, a former college football player and crypto investor, was appointed by President Donald Trump in December 2024 and has since served as a key liaison between the White House, the crypto industry, and lawmakers.

Patrick Witt, Hines' current deputy, is expected to succeed him. Hines will remain involved in an advisory capacity, assisting WHITE House AI and Crypto czar David Sacks on artificial intelligence initiatives. His departure marks a shift in leadership for the council, which has been instrumental in shaping policy at the intersection of digital assets and government.

In a post on X, Hines expressed his commitment to continuing support for the U.S. crypto industry outside of government. His tenure was characterized by efforts to bridge gaps between regulatory frameworks, interagency coordination, and private sector innovation.
